Landscapes

Senior Living: Living Room

Select images with a color palette that complements existing interior design. We recommend prints on canvas to avoid the glare or reflection from typical prints framed under acrylic or glass, which can interrupt the visual experience – problematic for “senior eyes.”

Coastal / Tropical

Healthcare: Hospital Patient Room

Patient Room artwork should serve to visually transport the viewer to a pleasant, relaxing place. Successful patient room art can serve as a “window” to the outdoors, effectively helping reduce stress for patients, visitors and even staff. Water, and particularly the ocean, is a universal healing subject, beloved by most people.

Photography

Healthcare: Corridor

When planning to place artwork in a corridor, vary the look and break the monotony by interspersing a series of 3 pieces between long corridor walls where large singular works are installed.

Floral / Still Life

Senior Living: Corridor

Corridor artwork installed on opposite walls in a “zigzag” pattern is highly effective in creating a less institutional “bowling alley” effect in long hallways. This layout allows you to skip walls thereby stretching your art budget.

Zen / Natural Elements

Healthcare: Medical Waiting Room

Create a dynamic space in a waiting room or reception by using different shapes in the area. Here, three verticals, placed together create a horizontal shape that fills the wall effectively.

Abstract

Senior Living: Dining “Bistro”

This Independent Living Bistro uses urban contemporary imagery to present a modern feeling. We suggest only placing abstract or urban contemporary imagery in public areas like dining rooms – not corridors. This urban contemporary abstract theme works well in senior living generally, but is not appropriate for Memory Care.

Variety / Figurative

Healthcare: Pediatric Exam Room

Use playful artwork to divert children’s attention while they await doctor’s arrival. Patients and caregivers are often anxious; effective artwork will help calm them and reduce stress. Exam rooms rarely include a window, so place artwork to visually expand the space by creating a “window” to the outdoors. Make sure not to overlook this important placement!
